why 1000s of women love our women-only mud run
There’s a moment that happens on every Muddy Princess women-only mud run.
You’re standing at the edge of a mud pit, looking at the mud, wondering what on earth possessed you to sign up for this. And then a stranger, a woman you’ve never met in your life, reaches out her hand, grins, and says, “Together?”
Muddy Princess isn’t really a race. It’s not timed, it’s not competitive, and absolutely nobody cares how fast you finish. What it is, is something far harder to put into words: it’s 1000’s of women every year choosing to show up, step out of comfort zones, get laughing, and get covered in mud with other women who completely understand.
Since launching in 2018, Muddy Princess has grown into one of the most beloved women-only 5K obstacle events in the United States, and the reason isn’t the obstacles themselves (though crawling, climbing, sliding, and splashing through 18+ challenges is undeniably a blast). The reason is what happens between those obstacles. The cheering, the pulling-someone-up-the-wall, the woman you’ve never spoken to holding your ankles, so you don’t slide back down the hill.
Women who run this event frequently say the same things: “I didn’t expect to feel this emotional”, “I didn’t expect strangers to become my people for the day.”, “I didn’t expect to finish something I wasn’t sure I could.” But they did, and they do!
The Magic Behind Our Mud Run
Most obstacle races are all about speed and bragging rights. Our women-only mud run says “not today.” No clocks, no leaderboards, no pressure, just mud-level good vibes and a whole lot of teamwork. Something magical happens when the pressure’s off: women stop worrying about how they look mid-obstacle and start focusing on getting each other through it, tiara intact. That’s the whole point of Muddy Princess, support beats speed, every single time.
It’s also why so many women come back year after year, often with the same squad, sometimes with a brand new one they met knee-deep in mud the year before.
So… Are You In?
If you’ve been sitting on the fence about registering, just do it! Not because you need to be fast, or fit, or fearless. But because somewhere on that course, a woman is going to reach out her hand and you’re going to need to reach back. And that moment will stick with you long after the mud has washed off.
That’s really what a women-only mud run gives you that other events can’t: a few hours where the only expectation is to show up, get muddy, and let a stranger help you over the wall.
